Al-Masad (Arabic المسد, “The Palm Fibre”) is the 111th surah of the Quran. It was revealed in Mecca and has 5 verses. It begins in Juz 30 on page 603 of the Medina Mushaf.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

111:1

تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍۢ وَتَبَّ

Tab bat yadaa abee Lahabinw-wa tabb

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!

111:2

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

Maa aghna 'anhu maaluhu wa ma kasab

No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!

111:3

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًۭا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۢ

Sa yas laa naran zaata lahab

Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame!

111:4

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ

Wam ra-atuh hamma latal-hatab

His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!-

111:5

فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌۭ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ

Fee jeediha hab lum mim-masad

A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!
